About the courses and program
|
Students take two courses to participate in the program.
Dates: The courses will meet in Lubbock on May 13, 2015 and then break until we meet again in London May 19-31, 2015. Coursework: Students can expect to learn about the cultural and communication significance of various British institutions, customs, and practices. Students will conduct background research and present information to the class about assigned London institutions, neighborhoods, and media. Students will write professional summaries of daily activities and post them online. The assignments will focus on experiential learning. Former students answer the question,
"Why should students apply?" "It was an experience of a lifetime and applying was one of the best decisions I've ever made." "This trip allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and fall in love with a new culture across the pond. One of my favorite things though was how many new friends I was introduced to. This trip was an amazing chance to bond with other peers and current professors!" "The London Maymester program was not only an amazing experience of being abroad, but it was also an valuable experience to get closer to students and faculty within the College of Media and Communication. You form a bond and share memories that are immediately remembered when you're back in the States, and you see them in the halls." |
